The process begins when a CAT scan is taken of the patient’s jaw bone. This CAT scan allows for the generation of a three-dimensional model of the jaw bone that can then be used with virtual reality software to plan the implant placement without the presence of the patient. The results are a more accurate implant placement and less chair time for the patient. This allows the surgeons to precisely place the dental implants required and your restorative dentist will screw in the temporary bridge at the same procedure. This allows the patient to leave the appointment the same day with a temporary bridge fixed to the dental implants. A final bridge will then be fabricated 4 to 6 months once implant healing has completed. This allows for the patient to have a fixed bridge attached to the implants for their long term final fixed prosthesis.
